Introduction by the editor

Stated preference methods, such as contingent valuation and choice modelling, are more robust than stated preference methods, such as travel cost analysis and hedonic pricing, but can be used for a wider range of values. In conjoint analyses, interviewees are asked to choose between bundles of attributes, one of which is cost.
